Madalyn grew up on a farm northeast of Edmonton. Madalyn has achieved honors in the Royal Conservatory of Music piano exams up to level 6. She was part of the local 4H group where she won an award for public speaking. Madalyn played flute and tympani drums in the school band; the band preformed in local festivals winning silver and honorable distinctions. She also received a citizenship award for her volunteering in the community. When she was 17 she got a job at a local hospital, which helped inspire her to pursue a career in medicine. Madalyn graduated as valedictorian from Lamont High school and enrolled into a Bachelor of Science degree at the UofA. Madalyn has volunteered with Frontier College helping with children’s’ literacy and is currently a part of the Science Mentors Program on campus. This past year she has worked as a resident assistant in Lister.
