Rachel is a Petroleum Engineering student at the University of Alberta and the returning President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, University of Alberta Chapter. During her tenure as President, she developed keen interests in both problem-solving and group leadership, and has spent the last year combining these two interests to refresh and modernize her student club. Rachel’s pursuit of petroleum engineering has also lead to broader interests in the energy sector. Her ultimate goal is to enter the field and become a catalyst for industry-wide changes towards more reliable, sustainable, and efficient approaches to recovering resources and supplying energy for both hydrocarbon and renewable resources. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys playing the piano, practicing martial arts (Taekwondo and Brazilian Jujitsu), horseback riding, visiting new cities, reading, and lively conversations with friends.
