Since her much-anticipated online, feature-length publication is not yet released to the public, she shares her latest report here, depicted in a cartoon format that aligns with the project’s creativity. We hope to share the final project when it’s published!
Salma’s Stretch Experience was a creative writing endeavour dedicated to engaging difference. She explains, “Engaging difference is a practice in which people shed their stereotypes and prejudices about those that they consider to be ‘others’ in order to create a safe space where common ground and understanding can be reached.” She’s writing her own story, one “where East Africa meets Canada,” to share her culture and intersectional experiences while controlling her own narrative.
